Polymarket Prices Only 15% Chance of AI Bubble Bursting by 2026
Polymarket · x · 2026-08-06
According to prediction market Polymarket, there is currently only a 15% chance that the AI industry will experience a severe downturn (bubble burst) by the end of 2026.
The resolution criteria for this market are notably strict, requiring at least three of the following events to occur within a 90-day window:
- NVIDIA (NVDA) stock drops 50% from its all-time high
- Semiconductor ETF (SOXX) drops 40%
- OpenAI declares bankruptcy or is acquired
- H100 rental prices fall below $1.00/day
- Major AI hardware suppliers (TSMC, ASML, etc.) drop 50%
While the market remains broadly optimistic, the prediction reflects ongoing, persistent concerns over the disconnect between trillions in AI infrastructure spending and actual returns.
