Amazon Open-Sources Kiro Crew, a Persistent Agent Workspace

Amazon has open-sourced Kiro Crew, a persistent agent workspace evolved from an internal side project, under the Apache 2.0 license. Prior to its public release, the project was validated by over 39,000 internal builders and 500 contributors.
Positioned as an orchestration layer for always-on coding agents, Kiro Crew introduces several key capabilities:
- Cross-session Memory: The workspace survives session endings, maintaining state and context.
- Asynchronous Jobs: Supports scheduled and webhook-triggered tasks, allowing agents to work in the background while developers are away.
- Multi-Agent Coordination: Enables multiple agents to work on the same codebase in parallel, automating cross-repository incident investigation and ticket triage.
