Jeff Dean Co-Founds Discovery Loop to Automate Science and Engineering
gharik · x · 2026-08-06
Google's core AI pioneers Jeff Dean, Sanjay Ghemawat, Oriol Vinyals, and Quoc Le have co-founded Discovery Loop, a Public Benefit Corporation.
The company's mission is to leverage frontier AI models and massive compute infrastructure to automate experimental loops in machine learning, science, and engineering. Their systems aim to run thousands of experiments in parallel, drastically compressing iteration time and increasing output.
Initially, the team will focus on automating ML research and engineering, acting as their own first customer to optimize their tech stack before expanding to broader National Academy of Engineering (NAE) Grand Challenges.
