Goodfire Launches Silico: A Platform for Frontier AI Research and Interpretability
iamrobotbear · x · 2026-08-06
Goodfire has officially released Silico, a platform designed for ambitious AI research. It aims to address the limitations of current LLMs in assisting research, such as over-alignment, lack of immediate GPU availability, and restricted tool access.
Silico offers robust model interpretation features. For instance, when analyzing a Vision Transformer (ViT), it can load ImageNet images and visualize the 196x196 matrix for each attention head using animated arcs across patches, helping researchers intuitively understand how vision models process information.
