A developer shared recent progress with their embodied robot, focusing on a niche issue called "portrait exclusion." The goal is to prevent the robot's facial recognition system from being confused by the adversarial environment of the background wall.
The developer noted that while the novelty might fade, it is still thrilling to wake up and review the results of an agent that has been physically running downstairs overnight. The robot autonomously gathers images under various lighting conditions and head positions to improve its recognition capabilities.
