The US FCC is reportedly drafting a ban on Chinese-made optical modules and other data-center components. Chinese manufacturers currently supply over half of the world's high-speed optical interconnects, which are critical for AI data centers. This proposed move could severely disrupt AI infrastructure supply chains and exposes the mutual risks of weaponizing supply chains.
