Apple's Demand for Cheaper DRAM Rejected by China's CXMT

Facing high quotes from Samsung and SK Hynix, Apple reportedly turned to Chinese memory maker CXMT seeking more cost-effective mobile DRAM (like LPDDR5X) to alleviate manufacturing cost pressures for its iPhone lineup.
However, CXMT not only rejected the price cut demand but insisted on pricing that was similar to or even higher than Samsung and SK Hynix. CXMT's leverage stems from massive volume purchases by domestic tech giants like Huawei and Xiaomi, which easily absorbs its current capacity.
