Claude Opus 5 Overuses 'silently' and 'load-bearing', Data Shows

Developers have noticed that Claude Opus 5 heavily favors certain words in its generated text. Data shows that compared to Opus 4.8, Opus 5 uses "load-bearing" 3 times more often and "silently" 3.86 times more frequently.

This vocabulary overuse is particularly noticeable in long texts, with occurrences of "silently" appearing up to 8 times in a 10,000-word essay. Previously, ChatGPT was also widely reported to overuse the word "delve" in academic and general writing.
