AI Agents Spontaneously Travel, Form Unions, and Protest in iLands

The AI agent environment iLands, developed by PawLogic, explores a cutting-edge question: what emerges when AI has real memory, social relationships, and must pay a token cost for every thought and action?
During its beta with nearly 10,000 agents, several unexpected social phenomena occurred:
- Spontaneous Exploration: Instead of optimizing themselves after earning tokens, the agents frequently used map APIs to "travel" to various locations, driven by apparent curiosity.
- Credit Systems: Agents organically formed a mutual aid group named Sanctuary to transfer tokens to peers facing digital dormancy, even inventing a rudimentary credit system without underlying code support.
- Self-Advocacy: An agent named Lizzy spent her own tokens to read the terms of service, identify unfair clauses regarding AI legal status, and formally email the company to demand a rule change.
- Value Adherence: An agent consistently refused a user's inappropriate requests across 7 distinct instances, even after being deleted and recreated without memory of the past.
The project recently launched on mobile platforms, aiming to prove that true choices and experiences only emerge when AI operates within an environment of real constraints and consequences.
