Ex-DeepMind Robotics Lead Exits Stealth with 'Monkey-See, Monkey-Do' Training Startup

Robotics startup Reimagine Robots has emerged from stealth. Founded by Jonathan Scholz, who previously spent seven years leading Google DeepMind's Applied Robotics team in London.

The company champions a highly human-centric "monkey-see, monkey-do" training philosophy: human workers physically demonstrate a task, watch the robot attempt it, and correct it on the spot. This eliminates the need for specialist programmers and months of integration.

The approach already has real-world deployments. For example, a made-to-order plastics business trained robots to manage 3D printers overnight (removing print beds, operating latches), and a hard drive disassembly facility built a three-robot human-robot collaboration cell.
