Testing MiniMax H3: Stunning Single-Character Results at 85% Lower Cost
dorocreator · reddit · 2026-08-05
A creator shared an in-depth test of the MiniMax H3 model for generating animated shorts. Rendering a 15-second video at 1056x608 on an RTX 3090 took about 26 minutes and cost roughly 8 cents. Compared to Seedance2 (which costs around 0.51 cents for 480p), H3 achieves an impressive 85% cost reduction.
Regarding capabilities:
- MiniMax H3: Works beautifully for single anime character scenes, but requires strict adherence to the official video prompt guide. It struggles with 2-3 character interactions and often has audio mishaps.
- Seedance2: Performs better in fight scenes, multi-character interactions, and audio, while being much more prompt-friendly without needing a rigid master template.
