SpaceX's first post-IPO earnings report reveals Q2 revenue of $7.81 billion, with AI business revenue reaching $2.56 billion—a 247% YoY surge, making it the company's second-largest revenue source. This growth was primarily driven by "AI solutions and infrastructure," generating $2.19 billion, with Anthropic and Google as the main clients.

However, this rapid AI expansion comes with massive capital expenditures. Total CapEx for the quarter reached $18.36 billion, with 86% (around $15.8 billion) directed toward AI infrastructure, mainly for expanding the Colossus II data center and supporting energy facilities. SpaceX's current power capacity for compute has reached 1.4GW, with targets of 15-20GW by next year.

Heavy upfront investments resulted in a quarterly operating loss of approximately $1.26 billion for the AI division. Following the report, the stock initially rose but later fell as investors focused on the AI spending and lockup expiry pressures. Musk emphasized an accelerating AI development pace and reaffirmed the exclusive use of NVIDIA GPUs.
