Following the release of MiniMax's open-weights H3 video model, the open-source community built a comprehensive toolchain ecosystem within just 48 hours.
- Generation & Deployment: Tools like ComfyUI and Diffusers provided native support immediately. Developers continuously broke VRAM barriers using quantization, bringing the minimum requirement down to 5-6 GB. Users even ran it on offline MacBooks and a $280 RTX 3060.
- Inference Serving: SGLang and vLLM quickly followed up with OpenAI-compatible video endpoints.
- Model Training: Developers (e.g., ostrisai, kohya) released T2V and I2V fine-tuning scripts within 1-2 days, continually optimizing to reduce training VRAM usage.
