Open-Source Desktop Agent 'MudrikNow' Guides You Through Any App with On-Screen Cursor
Famous_Can6494 · reddit · 2026-08-05
A solo developer open-sourced MudrikNow, a Windows desktop AI agent. Unlike traditional sidebar chatbots, triggered by Alt+Space, it spawns an owl cursor that physically walks to the exact button or field on your screen, drops a speech bubble explaining the 'why', and waits for your click before moving on.
Key Features:
- Real UI Awareness: Combines Windows UI Automation with screenshots to know exactly what's on screen.
- BYOM: Supports 140+ providers (Anthropic, OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, etc.) via OpenCode.
- Sandboxed: Read-only shell, no filesystem writes, limited to pre-approved UI actions.
Currently Windows-only (Mac/Linux on the roadmap), built as a nights-and-weekends project.
