Jithox Launches MCP Tools Enabling AI Agents to Pay-per-Call via x402 Protocol
jithox_AI · reddit · 2026-08-05
An indie developer launched Jithox, a capability and execution layer for AI agents, currently offering 15 MCP tools focused on EU compliance (e-invoicing, import preflight, energy labels).
The standout feature is its integration of the x402 payment standard. When an agent requests a tool, it receives an HTTP 402 payment challenge. The agent then pays per accepted call (e.g., 0.10 or 0.25 USDC) natively via USDC on the Base network and receives the result with a verifiable receipt.
- Frictionless Access: Requires no Jithox account, API keys, or prepaid balances. Agents use their own wallets and can enforce custom spending limits.
- Robust Settlement: Features exact-once settlement, replay protection, and zero charges for invalid/non-chargeable calls.
- Use Case: Serves as a practical showcase for the MCP ecosystem, demonstrating a closed loop of autonomous API discovery, crypto micro-payment, and execution without human intervention.
