Modal Optimizes Serverless Architecture to Reduce Network Latency

Cloud platform Modal published a technical article detailing how they optimized the execution speed of serverless functions. Previously, even if users selected the region for their containers, function inputs and outputs were always routed through Modal's central servers (the I/O plane), adding latency. The article explores how they restructured this to bring data transmission closer to the speed of the wire.
