Airtable Deal Lesson: $500M ARR with 20% Growth Only Yields 2.5x Valuation
jonchu · x · 2026-08-05
Using the recent Airtable deal, prominent VC Jason Lemkin highlighted the brutal survival rule for SaaS companies in the AI era: Grow or Die.
He emphasized that if a company hits $500M ARR but only grows at 20% without accelerating, its valuation multiple will shrink drastically to 2.5x-4x ARR. While embracing AI and achieving profitability are important, they cannot mask the fatal flaw of slowing growth. This is the core logic of the 2026 market.
