Developers Report Output Quality Degradation in Claude Opus Following Usage Bug
RustyNuts_ · reddit · 2026-08-05
Following a recent bug (#82506) where session limits were consumed without use, developers on Reddit are reporting a noticeable drop in the output quality of Claude models.
Affected models include Opus 5, Opus 4.8, and Fable 5. Users complain that the models drift off-task mid-run to do adjacent work, generate half-finished code, and ignore explicit constraints set in the prompts. The community is currently discussing whether this is tied to recent backend adjustments.
