Goodfire has officially made Silico, its platform for ambitious AI research, publicly available. The platform is designed to let researchers interpret and train models at frontier scale.
A research team recently shared a practical use case of using Silico to understand the neural KV cache compactors they are training. This highlights how good mechanistic interpretability tooling is now bleeding over from alignment research into accelerating capability and usefulness research.
