Node.js core developer Matteo Collina shared an experiment where he successfully fixed a bug in the Node.js undici library using the DeepSeek model, incurring a total API cost of just $0.034.

The test aimed to validate the unsubsidized cost of tokens and the model's capability in resolving real-world code issues. The corresponding GitHub PR indicates that the fix addresses a regression where reply option callbacks were not being re-invoked for persistent mocks.
