Minimax H3 Tested: Weird Black Artifacts When Upscaling Low-Res Videos
Santo277 · reddit · 2026-08-05
A local deployment user with an RTX 5080 reported encountering noticeable visual artifacts when using the Minimax H3 model in ComfyUI for image-to-video (R2V) and attempting to upscale.
Specifically, when the original generation resolution is below 0.9MP (around 700p), the upscaled video exhibits blurriness and weird black blocky shadows. This issue can be reproduced on both the quantized (Q4) and convrot models. The author is seeking community help to solve this pain point in local video generation.
