Frontier AI technology company ai& (ai-and) has announced a partnership with Voltaiq to deploy Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) across its AI data centers in Japan.
The collaboration pairs ai&'s sovereign AI compute infrastructure with Voltaiq's Enterprise Battery AI platform to accelerate grid interconnection, lower power costs, and ensure safety. The initiative addresses the massive power demands placed on electric grids by rapid AI expansion, using energy storage to reduce peak demand and maintain uptime during grid disturbances to prevent failed training runs.
