a16z Co-leads Volta's Series A to Build AI Neocloud for Startups

a16z announced it is co-leading the Series A funding for Volta, an AI infrastructure startup. Volta aims to solve compute access inequalities for 'Little Tech'—startups that lack the balance sheets to easily secure flexible compute.
Instead of requiring startups to bring bespoke investment-grade backstops, Volta assembles credit support, project equity, and debt for each deployment. The company has already signed a $10B strategic partnership for a 133 MW deployment in Norway and a $5B infrastructure program with Azora.
