Pandroid: Open-Source Hardware Platform for Fleet-Level Robot RL

A research team introduced Pandroid, a robotic hardware platform designed specifically to enable fleet-level reinforcement learning (RL). The design obsesses over simplicity and quality, integrating very few core components that have been rigorously tested.
Hardware-wise, the robot uses long-lasting BLDC motors and features a structure built entirely from sheet metal without any machined components. This approach keeps the robots highly accessible and close to the cost of materials, while ensuring it remains a reliable, safe, and broadly capable platform for robot learning.
