Investor Warns Claude is Becoming the Stock Market's 'Single Source of Truth'

Investor Gavin Baker highlighted a systemic risk in financial markets stemming from the widespread adoption of LLMs, warning about the loss of analytical diversity.

He noted that nearly everyone in the public equity investment business—both retail and institutional—now feeds every piece of news immediately into Claude, Claude Code, or Claude agents. Because LLMs are inherently probabilistic, there is likely very little variation in how they interpret market-moving information.

This creates a phenomenon where Claude acts like Walter Cronkite for the stock market, serving as a singular voice of truth. Baker argued that this breakdown in analytical diversity could lead to the formation of bubbles and subsequent market crashes.
