Spotify Expands AI Remix Project with Merlin, Reaching Indie Artists

Spotify announced that its upcoming AI-powered remix and covers product has secured backing from Merlin, an independent music rights agency representing over 30,000 indie labels and distributors. Universal Music Group had previously joined the initiative.
The paid tool allows fans to create AI-generated covers and remixes of participating artists' music. Spotify emphasized that the mechanism ensures artists can opt in, receive proper credit, and get compensated.
