Gary Marcus Claims OpenAI's Astra is a Distraction from Terrible Economics

AI researcher Gary Marcus continues to challenge OpenAI's technological capabilities and business prospects. He argues that the recently released Astra model is not the "quantum leap" OpenAI implied, suggesting its performance might not even surpass Fable and is certainly nowhere near AGI.
Marcus speculates that Astra is merely a PR play to distract from the company's increasingly terrible economics. He accuses OpenAI of bluffing and suggests this is the real reason people within the industry are desperate to shut him up.
