Google DeepMind launched Gemini Robotics 2, a vision-language-action model capable of controlling entire humanoid robots from feet to fingertips, moving beyond previous upper-body table-top limitations.
The new model enables robots to walk, crouch, stretch, manipulate objects, and collaborate to clean a room. A single model checkpoint successfully controls three different embodiments: Apollo 2 with SharpaWave hands, Apollo 2 with Inspire hands, and Franka Duo with Robotiq gripper.
