NeurIPS 2026 Workshop to Explore Dynamic Alignment in Human-AI Coupled Systems

StanfordAILab · x · 2026-08-04

The upcoming NeurIPS 2026 BiAlign Workshop has released its Call for Papers, focusing on "Dynamic Alignment in Human-AI Coupled Systems."

The workshop highlights that while mainstream AI alignment research typically assumes static human preferences, AI acts as a long-term participant in high-stakes domains. AI shapes human trust and behavior, while humans reshape AI's objectives in return. This dynamic interaction introduces overlooked risks such as sycophancy, overreliance, the value-action gap, and LLM dark patterns. The workshop aims to advance the concept of alignment as a process of continual learning.
