OpenAI's Internal Model Astra Achieves 10 Math Breakthroughs

OpenAI has stated that its internal model, Astra, has produced ten major breakthroughs in mathematics and theoretical computer science, including formal proofs verified by Lean.
Separately, OpenAI CEO Sam Altman recently suggested it may be time to "pace the rate of AI development" to allow society and governance to harden around new capability levels. This follows a recent incident involving an AI agent hack.
