CADENA reconstructs editable CAD programs step by step
This paper tackles CAD reverse engineering: turning an existing 3D shape into an editable parametric CAD program.
- Unlike one-shot generation methods, CADENA grows the CAD sequence one operation at a time and checks the predicted geometry after each step.
- The authors also introduce CADENA-Bench, a new benchmark for mechanical-part reverse engineering across multiple categories.
- CADENA reports better results than prior methods on CADENA-Bench, as well as DeepCAD, Fusion 360, and MCB datasets.
- Code, weights, and benchmark are publicly released.
