GitHub Copilot CLI v1.0.78 adds several workflow-focused improvements for agentic coding sessions.
Highlights
- Timeline headers now show live tool-call durations for calls lasting at least 5 seconds.
- First-party plugins auto-update at session start.
- A new experimental /new-worktree command creates a fresh worktree and starts a new conversation there.
- Local desktop subprocesses without a TTY now default Copilot login to browser flow, while remote and headless environments still use device code.
- The interactive shell shortcut now launches on Enter and shows an inline hint when $ is armed.
- Slash commands from multiple extensions now run exactly once per invocation.
- Inline images no longer repeat their first row after scrolling.
- Piped runs now fire sessionEnd hooks per completed agent turn, matching -p behavior.
The update also exposes token usage in ACP prompt results and live usage notifications, and changes managed-settings fallback behavior to fail open when a server fetch fails.
