OpenAI says GPT-Live rebuilt ChatGPT’s voice stack for continuous real-time speech

OpenAI says GPT-Live was as much an engineering breakthrough as a research one: the team rebuilt the voice stack from client to model so ChatGPT can listen while it speaks.
The new architecture keeps audio flowing continuously, which means deeper reasoning and tool use no longer have to interrupt the conversation.
