Musician builds a local AI horror short with Flux, LTX, ComfyUI and custom LoRAs

The author, originally a musician, describes how AI music generation led him into AI filmmaking.

He spent weeks learning ComfyUI, fixing dependencies, and testing workflows for character consistency across shots. After many failed renders and experiments with reference chains, LoRAs, keyframes, and LTX, he built a local pipeline around Flux, LTX, ComfyUI, custom LoRAs, editing, sound design, and original music to produce 08:17, a work-in-progress horror short film.

He says the goal was not just to make a showcase clip, but to see whether a complete story with recurring characters, consistent locations, dialogue, atmosphere, and sound could be made almost entirely with local AI tools.
