Avoca argues that radiology scheduling is much harder than generic voice AI can handle: it requires understanding clinical protocols, machine setup, and other details that often live in legacy systems or staff knowledge.
The company says its radiology-specific AI covers the full workflow from referral to results, handling phone calls, online scheduling, and faxes. In the launch post, it says major networks are already using it, and claims the system can reduce call abandonment by 90%.
The angle here is that vertical AI wins when the workflow is genuinely complex and domain-specific.
