Formula 1 cuts data-source onboarding from 8 weeks to 40 minutes with AWS agents

AWS describes how Formula 1 used agentic AI to overhaul its data operations on the Customer 360 marketing platform.
- New data-source onboarding dropped from 6–8 weeks to about 40 minutes of code generation plus hours of deployment and review.
- The system generates infrastructure code, DBT transformations, and governance policies from a BRD, then opens GitHub pull requests and Jira tickets for human review.
- It also automates GDPR classification, schema mapping, data-quality checks, and upstream schema-change detection.
- AWS says the team reached end-to-end observability with lineage and root-cause analysis, and that AI agents now handle 95% of the work autonomously.
