Google Cloud says its new borderless Lakehouse lets Gemini Enterprise and conversational agents analyze and act on data wherever it lives, without moving it.
- Built on Apache Iceberg and Iceberg REST.
- Adds preview catalog federation for AWS Glue, Databricks Unity, and Snowflake Horizon.
- Supports secure bi-directional access through BigQuery, Managed Service for Apache Spark, and other Iceberg-compatible engines.
- Also extends to the app layer with zero-copy integrations for SaaS systems like SAP, Salesforce, and Workday.
