MiniMax H3 Open-Weight Tested: 8s Video Gen in 15 Mins on RTX 5090

MiniMax announced that its H3 video generation model is now open-weight, aiming to provide creators and developers with powerful multimodal capabilities.
A developer tested the R2V (reference-to-video) feature locally via ComfyUI using int8 quantization on an RTX 5090. Generating an 8-second 1344×768 video from two reference images (character and background) took about 15 minutes. The comparison shows that H3 performs exceptionally well and is fully viable for local deployment.
