Anthropic released Claude Opus 5, a more efficient agentic model that achieves state-of-the-art results on coding and knowledge work benchmarks like Frontier-Bench and GDPval-AA, while remaining behind Mythos 5 on cybersecurity. It offers improved performance at the same cost as Opus 4.8 and is now the default on Claude Max.
