Tsinghua & Huawei Introduce HiSME: AI Agents That Learn How to Learn

Tsinghua University and Huawei researchers have introduced HiSME (Hierarchical Skill Meta-Evolving), a new framework designed to help AI agents not only acquire new skills but also improve their ability to learn them.
- No Costly Model Updates: Instead of relying on expensive parameter updates, HiSME allows agents to reflect on past task experiences to automatically refine how they develop and improve skills over time.
- Benchmark Superiority: On mainstream agentic benchmarks, this meta-evolving approach outperforms pure skill-evolving methods, building richer and more adaptable skill libraries across different scenarios.
