90% of Code at Anthropic Written by AI, Restructuring Team Roles
xiaohu · x · 2026-08-03
According to Boris, an average of 90% of the code at Anthropic is now written by Claude Code. For him personally, this figure has been 100% since last November.
He noted that the traditional split of "frontend, backend, and product design" is outdated because everyone can code now. Empowered by AI, team functions are evolving into five new roles:
- Prototyper: Quickly iterates to grasp the initial idea.
- Builder: Turns prototypes into market-ready products.
- Maintainer: Keeps the software stable at scale.
- Scaler: Takes validated products and scales them 10x or 100x.
- Finisher: Polishes the product and code to remove friction.
He specifically mentioned that "Scalers" are currently in exceptionally high demand at Anthropic.
