The author points out that it is a historical aberration for people whose only skill is a particular kind of symbolic intelligence—coupled with a complete absence of social or physical skills—to be the most desired by high-paying jobs. As AI technology advances, if being merely "clever" becomes less useful and scarce, the socio-economic structure built on specific intellectual advantages will be completely overturned.
