Report: GPT 5.6 Sol Far Exceeds Anthropic in Computer Use, Nearing Human Speed

Scobleizer · x · 2026-08-03

According to a recent post, GPT 5.6 Sol is significantly ahead of Anthropic models in computer use. Previous versions (5.4 and 5.5) suffered from frequent context compaction, getting lost, high error rates, and extreme slowness. The new version resolves these issues, completing a 90-minute automation task in under 10 minutes without a single context compaction. The author notes that combined with Cerebras' fast inference, agents controlling computers at or beyond human speeds will fundamentally transform automation.
