Security Researchers Urge Frontier AI Labs to Open Access for Bug Bounties
rez0__ · x · 2026-08-02
Security researchers are sharply criticizing frontier AI labs for not putting more resources into trusted cyber access. If labs are genuinely worried about a future cyber apocalypse from open-weight models, it would make sense to incentivize hundreds of security researchers to find and fix bugs.
Currently, labs seem to prioritize highly profitable enterprise security programs over broad bug bounty initiatives, which researchers argue lacks sincerity in addressing AI doomsday risks.
