Researcher tszzl delivered a sharp critique against the notion of restricting AI development to preserve human intellectual achievement. He pointed out that humanity has already solved much of accessible math historically, which is no reason to resent progress.
Using a thought experiment, he asked how we would react if biological aliens visited Earth and shared their secrets—would we be angry they stole our clout? He argued that pausing AI progress merely to create artificial disutility for mathematicians is insulting and akin to putting cognitive dampeners on the universe.
