Meta executive Adam Mosseri predicts that the compute cost (token burn) for a strong engineer using AI could soon rival their actual salary.
This economic shift will force companies to implement per-engineer token caps. Furthermore, the metric for evaluating top developers will fundamentally change: instead of judging by the volume of code shipped, they will be evaluated based on their return on compute.
