Dev Pushes Back on Gary Marcus: Humans Use Tools Too, Capability is What Matters

Responding to Gary Marcus's insistence that true AGI must be a pure neural network entirely independent of tools, developer Matt Shumer argues the opposite.

He points out that under such a strict definition, humans themselves wouldn't qualify as general intelligences, as we heavily rely on external tools in our daily lives. Shumer argues that how the system achieves its results doesn't matter; the actual capability is the only thing that counts.
