Laguna XS 2.1 achieves an 80.6% speedup on Mac without using speculative decoding.
While internal agents previously managed to optimize it to 36.6%, and the author's theoretical ceiling analysis suggested a 62% limit, the open community challenge pushed the optimization all the way to 80.6%. This even surpasses the 65% speedup of the speculative-decoding baseline.
The organizers have extended submission timeouts to 2 hours and are adding more benchmarking capacity to handle the influx of community contributions.
