Claude Audits Live Revit Model via MCP, Flags 34 Warnings in One Prompt

jfischoff · x · 2026-08-02

A developer demonstrated using Claude to audit a live Autodesk Revit architectural model via an MCP connection.

Without manual data exports, Claude traversed a model tree of over 34,000 elements, cross-checked rooms, families, and sheets, and identified 34 warnings and 7 duplicates. The most critical flag was three fire-rated doors missing their fire rating parameters. The interaction is currently limited to read-only access on Revit's official MCP server, with write access planned for a separate future server.
