Boris Cherny, creator of Claude Code, explains on Bloomberg Podcast why many companies fail to see big productivity gains from AI. Citing a 1996 Harvard Business Review study, he contrasts companies that kept paper processes with a single computer operator (no gains) versus those that digitized everything and redesigned workflows around the computer (significant gains). He applies this to AI: the most successful companies put Claude at the center of operations and address bottlenecks one by one.
